Meet the Team…
This is the highly qualified team behind the scenes. We’re local guides incredibly passionate about the Highlands of Scotland, especially when you can appreciate it’s unmatchable views from the water. We’re fortunate to meet people from all over the world and share unique kayak adventures with them, immersing ourselves in the landscape, wildlife and culture that we’re so proud to share.

Jules
Jules returned home and founded NorWest Sea Kayaking in 2007, now rebranded as Summer Isles Sea Kayaking. This allows her to share not only her passion of sea kayaking, but also her passion for nature and her local area- with its magnificent coastline, marine life and culture.
Jules loves sharing the ‘Sense of freedomʼ you gain from gliding over the water in a sea kayak and the closeness it allows you to nature. She is also a very skilled and passionate coach and enjoys helping people progress their paddling skills and achieve their paddling goals.

Steve
Steve has been working in the outdoors for nearly 40 years. He is a very experienced and talented Level 5 coach, who is just as happy coaching beginners as he is coaching advanced paddlers in challenging conditions. Steve is originally a ‘Geordie’ but has now lived in Scotland longer, so he is now officially a ‘Northern Scot’! Steve is great fun and is very good at making you feel relaxed on the water, no matter the situation.

Dave
Dave is an extremely talented kayaker and is one of the leading all round paddlers in the country. He spent his childhood competing in white water racing and then progressed to exploring the most remote places of the world. Dave has led sea kayak expeditions to the Artic, Adriatic and all over Scotland. He works as a freelance coach and guide in the UK and loves coaching/guiding up here in The Summer Isles. He is an experienced coach in all disciplines and is very skilled at progressing people’s paddling skills.

Laura
Laura is a highly skilled outdoor instructor and guide, but most of all she is ‘wonderful, encouraging, positive and patient’ as quoted by a recent group of paddler she took on expedition! Laura trained at Glenmore Lodge the national outdoor centre and has travelled and worked in many locations abroad including Antartica and South Georgia and at home in Scotland. She starting kayaking in Scotland at university and has gone on to paddle and work extensively in Scotland especially the West, Northwest and Outer Hebrides.
